Meet Cloud (aka Billie)

She is a 2-year-old husky with striking blue eyes and the softest coat. She’s about 45 lbs of gentle sweetness, and her fosters fondly call her Billie.

She’s calm and sweet with people. She won’t rush up to say hi, but she’s worth the wait. Once she’s comfortable, she’ll melt right into your side.

Billie is a true husky at heart. She loves getting out for walks, sniffing everything, and exploring; so an active home is her best match. She’s also smart and eager to learn, and she’s already learned sit, shake, down, and stay. Treats are her love language. She’s not into toys, but she’ll work hard for a snack. She does great on her own at home, settling in happily with a cozy bed.

She’s still decompressing from all the changes and finding her confidence, so new places and sudden movements may take a little getting used to. A patient, gentle adopter will see her blossom. She’d also prefer a home where she isn’t bothered by other dogs. She may do well with a calm dog who respects her space, but she’s just as happy being an only dog. This might change and I’ll update here as she settles in.

Her story: Billie was found as a stray and ended up in a high-kill shelter in California. She was so scared there that she spent her days hiding in her kennel, and the volunteers who met her called her the sweetest baby girl. On the very day shelter was preparing to euthanize her to make room for more dogs, an amazing family stepped up to foster her and we were able to rescue her just in time. Now she’s safe with us, and slowly learning that the world can be kind.

She’s up to date on vaccines, and getting spayed the first week of October. She’s also tested Heartworm-negative.
