Meet Comet!
Comet is a 2.5–3-year-old, 50-pound Siberian Husky who is ready to leave his stray days behind and find a family of his own.
Comet was found as a stray near the pool area of a hotel and was thankfully picked up by our rescue. He is now enjoying life in a foster home, where he has been working with our trainer and showing everyone what a wonderful companion he can be. He is crate trained, house trained, and leash trained, and he minds his manners very well. He would do best in a home over an apartment since he sings (off key) for his dinner.
In true Husky fashion, Comet has a fun mix of personalities. He is moderately active and enjoys getting out and about, but he doesn't need to be on the go every minute of the day. He can be energetic and playful one moment, then happily switch gears and become a professional lounger the next. Give him a comfortable spot, a good bone, and he'll happily settle down on his dog bed and entertain himself.
Comet is dog friendly and enjoys socializing with other dogs, but he's also a bit of a "play when I feel like it" kind of guy. He likes to interact on his terms and then is perfectly content simply coexisting with his canine friends. Because of this, he may be happiest as the only pet in the home or with another easygoing, large dog who doesn't need constant interaction and may be good with knowing boundaries of other dogs.
And when Comet decides it's time for attention, you'll know it! He has those classic Husky moments when he becomes an affectionate, pushy boy who wants you to play with him, give him attention, and generally acknowledge that he is the most important Husky in the room. Then, once he's had his fill, he's perfectly capable of settling himself down for a nice chew and some quiet time. He would do best with teenage kids who know he may not always appreciate a random hug or restraint.
Comet is looking for a family who will appreciate his goofy Husky personality, respect his boundaries, provide him with appropriate exercise and enrichment, and enjoy all the little quirks that make him Comet.
If you're looking for a handsome Husky who can be playful but then can also laze about with you, Comet just might be your guy.
Comet is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. All potential adopters will speak with our certified trainer to hear every detail about him (he is a personal favorite of our trainer's) as well as learning his commands and free training advice.
