Buddy - Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise Dog Available for Adoption in WDM, Iowa

Buddy is an approximate 2.5 to 3 year old, male, Shih Tzu/Bichon mix that weighs about 10-12 lbs. If you are looking for a small dog with a big personality and lots of snuggles, Buddy is your guy! Buddy is a Bichon/shih tzu that came to Hope as a surrender with some heavy matting and improper diet. Before that he was in a puppy mill situation, so this guy has lived quite a life in his short 2.5 years. After some work with the grooming students at DMACC and some introductions to a healthy diet and a family routine, he has become a wonderful little pup who is ready for his forever family. He loves going on walks in the neighborhood, plays well with his foster dog brothers who outweigh him by 70 lbs, and cuddles up to his foster sister cat at night. He has been great with all family members in the home as well and would be a wonderful family dog, especially if someone is home with him most of the time to give him additional security. Buddy will need regular grooming, but he did very well with his initial one. He is potty trained and does well in the kennel, but would prefer to be on your lap or next to you at all times. Due to his history and lack of experience with kids we are not adopting Buddy to a family with kids under 8 years old.
