## Meet Jackson

Jackson is a 6-year-old Maltese/Shih Tzu mix who is looking for his forever person or family. Sadly, both of his previous owners passed away, so Jackson is hoping that his next home will truly be his forever home.

Jackson is an energetic little guy who loves walks, playing with toys, chewing on a good chew stick, and spending time with his people. He is a true little shadow and wants to follow you everywhere-including the bathroom! He can also be quite the **attention hog** and will happily soak up as much love as you are willing to give. And if you get too close, don't be surprised if he tries to give you a kiss right on the face!

At night, Jackson enjoys sleeping in bed with his person, sometimes snuggled against your leg or back. He also loves lap time and watching TV with you.

Jackson gets along with other dogs, but he does appreciate having his own personal space and doesn't always enjoy another dog getting too close to his bubble.

Jackson would do best in a **calm, adult home without children** where his people understand that he has some boundaries. He doesn't like being left alone and may bark for a little while when you leave. He also likes to alert you whenever he hears a suspicious noise, so apartment living would not be a good fit.

Grooming and vet visits are not Jackson's favorite things, and he can be sensitive about being touched in certain areas. Because of this, he would do best with an **experienced dog owner** who is willing to be patient and respectful of his boundaries. He may need sedation for grooming, or someone willing to work with him slowly to help him become more comfortable with handling.

Jackson has some quirks, but he also has a whole lot of personality and love to give. He will make someone a wonderful little sidekick and will happily follow you around, steal your lap, watch TV with you, and try to sneak in a few face kisses along the way.
