Chai - Shih Tzu Dog for Adoption in Prescott, Arizona

Chai is a sweet little two-year-old with so much love to give. She is affectionate, cuddly, gentle, and incredibly loyal. Chai is a quiet little girl who loves giving kisses and being close to her person.

She will happily follow her foster Mom from room to room and settle on a dog bed or the floor just to stay nearby. As she becomes more comfortable, her playful personality is beginning to shine.

Chai has not barked yet, even when she hears other dogs barking. She loves spending time with small dogs and remains calm and tolerant even when they get a little grumpy with her. She has not yet been around large dogs.

At night, Chai sleeps peacefully in her crate right beside her foster Mom's bed. She is still working on potty training but does very well when taken outside at regular intervals. She loves her treats and is very food motivated, which should make training easier. Walking on a leash is still new to her, so she will need some patient practice as she learns.

Chai has beautiful, silky, non-shedding hair that will require regular grooming. Her coat can mat easily if she isn't brushed and trimmed regularly, and she will also need routine cleaning around her eyes to prevent clumps from forming.

Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard.
