Bernie - Shih Tzu and Mixed Breed Dog Available for Adoption in Oxford, Michigan

Bernie will have much cuter pictures coming soon, we just took a quick shot after he got back from the groomers! He is estimated to be about 4 years old and weighs 18 pounds.

Meet Bernie, a handsome, loveable and wiggly boy who is excited to find his forever home. Sadly, Bernie is heartworm positive, and we are looking for a family who wants to foster him that could lead to adoption if you fall in love! When we saw Bernie, we knew he was something special and had to bring him to our rescue. He will be starting his treatment soon and will need a quiet, low-key type of home where he can calmly recover and heal. You will not meet a happier guy, he is super friendly, adorable of course, but has lots of energy! So, he will need a committed foster who can try to keep him relaxed during his treatment. Bernie will need a home where any children are respectful, calm and at least 8 years old so he can have a peaceful place to live during his treatment. Bernie would love it if you came to meet him, he is truly going to make a wonderful best friend, and he really wants a family to love.
