ARTIE
Artie is such a charming good boy! He was found stray in Detroit, and was so painfully matted that the shelter kindly shaved down his face & legs under sedation; once we sprung him, he thoroughly enjoyed a full groom, bath and spa day! Under allll that hair we found a cute little gentleman with so much love to give!
Artie is house and crate-trained, and is a well-behaved and respectful foster guest. He doesn't need to be crated when you're not home; he will just relax quietly in his dog bed until you return. Though he loves to be near his people, Artie is not a "Velcro dog"; he can amuse himself if you're busy or working from home. He is welcomed with his foster family on furniture and to sleep in/on the human bed (which he loves), and he is very polite and appreciates this comfort. Bonus, Artie doesn't shed!
Artie's foster family includes a dog-savvy pre-teenager, and he's done well with her and her equally kind friends! He gives the sweetest hugs, and longs to feel safe as part of a loving family. Artie loves to play with and chase his toys, and he has a few favorites! He loves walks, and does beautifully with a harness and leash. He also adores car rides, and his go-with-the-flow attitude makes him a great travel buddy! Artie is indifferent to (and can be nervous around) other animals; he'd love to be the only pet, so he can give and receive all the affection and attention! Artie is a 2 and 1/2-year-old ShihTzu mix and weighs 12#. He had a dental cleaning recently and was neutered; he's ready and excited to find his loving furever family!
PLEASE NOTE: Artie's ideal family will be an adult family, or one with respectful kids 10+ up. He requires a visit to the groomer every 8-10 weeks to keep his skin and coat healthy, and enjoys being brushed several times a week. Artie is a lovable and loving little guy who is polite and well-behaved. All he wants is to be part of a kind, loving family who will adore him and keep him safe; he will shower you with love in return!
