Meet Carter! 🐾

Hi there! My name is Carter, and I'm a sweet, handsome 1-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighing 19 pounds. I'm a little taller than your average Shih Tzu, which just means there's more of me to love!

My journey hasn't been the easiest. I was found wandering in a rural area, covered in painful mats from head to tail. Thankfully, kind people brought me to a shelter, where everyone worked hard to help me get to safety. Then ARNO rescued me, and my life has been getting better every day!

I had to be shaved down completely to remove all those painful mats, but now I'm enjoying lots of love, good food, and TLC. I feel so much better, and my soft, beautiful coat will grow back before you know it.

I'm a little shy when I first meet new people, but once I know I'm safe, my sweet personality begins to shine. With a little patience and kindness, I'll become a loyal companion who will love being by your side.

**Note: Our shelter is open by scheduled appointment only after your application is approved. One of ARNO's volunteer adoption counselors will be in contact with you to notify you of your approval status as well as arrange that appointment. Please see the link above to apply.

Adoption Fees:

Dogs:

Puppies under 1 year - $300-$350
Adult dogs (1 - 7 years) - $250
Seniors (8 years and older) - $200
Bulldogs, Standard Poodles and Dachshunds $350


Cats:

Adults (1 year and older) - 1 for $125 / 2 for $200
Kittens (under 1 year) - 1 for $175 / 2 for $225

For all animals that have not been spayed or neutered a $100 deposit will be required in addition to the adoption fee. The deposit is refundable upon completion of the spay / neuter surgery.
