Mac - Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Dog for Adoption in Decorah, Iowa

No tricks here... just a whole lot of LOVE! Meet Mac!
Mac is a 3-year-old, 22 lb Shih Tzu mix (possibly with Lhasa Apso) who’s hoping to find his very own happily-ever-after! His favorite treats! Cuddles with his people, walks, and playing with his beloved stuffy toys.
A little shy at first, but a total sweetheart once you’re in his circle! Mac may bark or sometimes even growl when meeting new people, but with a little patience and “get to know you” time, his loving, playful, loyal personality shines through. He has no history of biting.
Mac is housebroken, gets along well with other dogs, and is friendly or indifferent toward cats. He can handle being home alone without accidents or chewing, but he’d much rather spend his days with his favorite humans!
Mac’s Halloween wish list:
A home where someone is around most of the time.
A canine companion to share in the fun would be a bonus!
Older, calm kids who understand he can get nervous around lots of activity and sudden movements.
Patient people who will help him build confidence and get more comfortable meeting new friends.
Mac’s original owner passed away last year, and he later came to Heart when the family member caring for him decided he deserved a home better suited to his young age long-term.
He may take a little time to come out of his shell, but once you earn his trust, you’ll have a loyal little sidekick who’s ready to fill your days with cuddles, playtime, and love.
This Halloween, skip the tricks and make room for a little Mac magic!
Could Mac be the missing piece of your family’s happily-ever-after?
Mac’s adoption fee is $300. Applications can be submitted at www.heartrescueteam.com.
