Misty is a 5-year-old Shih Tzu weighing just 15 pounds. She enjoys walks on a harness (no collars for this girl; she has a sensitive trachea), loves being outside, and is happiest curled up in your lap after a fun play session with toys or chewies. She especially enjoys treats and mealtime and being around her people and other dogs.

Misty has a wonderful balance of playful and laid-back energy. One minute she’s trotting around exploring the yard, and the next she’s snoozing contentedly beside you. She gets along well with other dogs and doesn’t seem bothered by cats. Because she can be wary of strangers at first, she would likely do best with older children or a calm, patient home willing to give her time to feel safe.

She’s making progress with house training but is still getting the hang of that. Misty can sleep in a kennel at night, although she’s not a big fan of being kenneled during the day for long periods. Loud noises and haircuts are definitely not her favorite things either!

Misty is looking for a loving family who understands that healing takes time. Once she trusts you, she becomes the sweetest, most devoted companion you could ask for. This resilient little girl has already overcome so much — now she just needs a forever home where she can finally be cherished the way she deserves. 🐾
