Gohan - Shiba Inu and Siberian Husky Dog for Adoption

Meet Gohan, a handsome Shiba mix with a name that suits him perfectly. Just like Gohan from the beloved Japanese anime Dragon Ball, this sweet boy is gentle, smart, calm, polite, and kind-hearted. At heart, Gohan’s biggest dream is simple: to live a peaceful life as a beloved family dog.

Gohan’s story has not been an easy one. He was found as a stray and eventually brought to the St. Louis County Pet Adoption Center. When he arrived, he was covered in fleas, filthy, and looked as though he had not been brushed or properly cared for in a very long time. Yet despite the neglect he experienced, Gohan has remained incredibly loving and trusting. He greets people with a wagging tail, happy kisses, and a desire to stay close by your side. He loves being petted and thrives on human interaction.

Gohan has many classic Shiba traits. He forms strong bonds with his family, carries himself with a proud and confident air, and can be a little independent and cat-like at times. He is neat, somewhat aloof in that signature Shiba way, and has a stubborn streak, but he also enjoys being part of the group and likes being at the center of family life. He is dog-friendly, walks beautifully on leash, and enjoys spending time outdoors.

In the home, Gohan is low to medium energy and is not destructive. Most of the time, he is perfectly content relaxing in his bed and enjoying a calm environment. He prefers being left free in the house rather than confined to a crate, making him an easy companion for the right home. Gohan is a sweet, steady, and loyal dog who is ready to leave his difficult past behind and settle into the peaceful family life he deserves.

Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO.

Gohan’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.

The Shiba Inu is a small to medium sized dog breed known for its fox like appearance, with a curled tail and upright ears. Originating from Japan, Shiba Inus are independent, alert, and spirited dogs. They are loyal to their families but can be reserved around strangers. Recognized for their bold and confident nature, Shiba Inus require consistent training and socialization to thrive. With a thick double coat and a distinct red, sesame, or black and tan coloration, Shiba Inus are charming companions for active individuals or families.

The Siberian Husky is a medium sized working dog breed known for its striking appearance and friendly demeanor. Originating from Siberia, these dogs are well adapted to cold climates and are recognizable for their distinctive wolf like appearance, including piercing almond shaped eyes and a thick double coat. Siberian Huskies are known for their high energy levels, intelligence, and strong willed nature, making them best suited for active families and experienced dog owners who can provide them with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
