WHISPER WILL BE READY TO GO HOME SEPT.5th after recuperating from her spay surgery.
Whisper is almost 3 years old and has a beautiful red sable colour with a very inquiring personality. She is interested in everything around her and especially what her special person is doing or going. Whisper is on the larger size for a Sheltie at 44lbs. (she probably has some non-Sheltie genes too) and does need to lose a few pounds to be at her best weight. She is a low to medium energy level and walking would be a good way for her to keep fit.
Whisper is affectionate and is very good with people after she knows them....she takes time to warm up to and trust strangers who come to her house, so would be best in a house without too many people coming and going.
She has previously lived in a rural area so is becoming used to city sights and sounds when out walking. A quiet residential area would be best for Whisper to feel comfortable and confident.

If you have a fully fenced and secured yard and are interested in adopting WHISPER or any of our dogs, the first step is to complete an Adoption Application at www.sosr.ca/apply-to-adopt so that we can determine whether you and your family are a good match for one of the dogs. If we have a possible match, you would then have a telephone interview, speak to the foster mom, have a home visit by one of our volunteers and vet reference check. Once you have been approved for adoption you can then meet the dog at his foster home. At that time, if you would like to have him as a new family member, you would complete the adoption paperwork and take him home.
