If youre looking for a sweet, laid-back companion, Basil might just be your perfect match.

Basil is doing an amazing job in foster care and is very close to being fully house trained! He sleeps soundly through the night in his crate (with zero accidents!) and happily heads to bed when its time.

This handsome boy has been wonderful with kids ranging from 6 to 15 years old. While he hasnt had many opportunities to meet other dogs, he has been polite and cautious with those he has met. He hasnt met cats yet, but we dont anticipate him having any issues living with other dogs or cats with slow, proper introductions.

Basil is still learning that his leash and harness arent so scary, but once hes out on a walk, hes happy to stroll along—just dont expect a marathon! Hes a relaxed guy who prefers shorter adventures.

Hes already mastered sit and is working on lay down. Basil patiently waits for his food until he hears the cue go, showing just how eager he is to learn.

One of his cutest quirks? He talks to his toys and bones instead of barking all the time. He also has a few funny dislikes—the vacuum, the Roomba, and busy streets can be a little overwhelming—but hes gaining confidence every day. Car rides arent his favourite yet, but hes making progress.

And if you ever open the freezer... expect Basil to come running! Ice cubes are his absolute favourite treat, and hell patiently wait in hopes youll share one.

Basil is a gentle, easygoing pup with so much love to give. His forever family will be incredibly lucky to welcome this special boy into their home.
