Dixie is a 1 ½-year-old shepherd mix with the sweetest soul. She is believed to be blind, but she doesn’t let that stop her from exploring the world in her own way.
She takes big, thoughtful steps to feel out her surroundings, learning as she goes. It’s clear she’s doing her best to navigate and trust the world around her—and she does it with so much heart.
Dixie is an absolute sweetheart who just wants a safe, loving home to call her own. Her previous owner shared that she loved playing with neighborhood kids (especially chasing soccer balls!) and that she did well around their rabbits and chickens.
She will need a family willing to accommodate her very limited sight and help her build confidence, but in return, you’ll get a deeply devoted companion.
She’s a special girl looking for someone just as special to give her the patience, love, and security she deserves.
The adoption fee for dogs is $60. Adoptions include vaccines, microchipping and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please call the St. George Animal Shelter to schedule an appointment. 435.627.4350
