Rica - Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Richmond, Virginia

Rica is a beautiful, mid-size shepherd mix who has gone through a lot during the past 6 months. She was a much-loved dog in a previous home before her owners encountered housing problems that would not allow them to keep her. Since then, she lost her right eye to a severe infection, and has had to endure conjunctivitis and dry eye in her left eye. Daily eye drops are helping with that, but she now faces eye surgery next month to help correct that condition.

Despite all that, Rica continues to be calm, gentle & a dog who loves snuggles. She's a true "people dog" and has a proven track record of being house trained, crate trained, gentle with children, and affectionate with adults.

Rica is not good with other dogs. In fact, she has always lived as an only dog so she needs to be the only dog in the household where she can soak up all the affection her new owners can give her. And she can return the favor with hours of companionship, tail wags, and loving kisses. To meet her is to fall in love with her, so come on by!
