FINALLY! Fritz, we are getting you out one way or another!!!
Fritz is a dog we have been trying to bring up on transport but had nowhere for him to go because another dog took much longer to find a home than we ever thought. Then, he got leapfrogged a couple of times. But it didn't start there - it started way before. That being said, he will be coming up on our transport on 6/6/26.
See, we met Fritz the same time we met Blizzard, but poor Fritz was heartworm positive. Before THAT, he had entered the shelter with a severely embedded collar that required time to heal. It had been embedded so long that the skin was actually growing AROUND the collar. He lived his life on a chain like this.
Arrangements were made to get Fritz treated for heartworms and he stayed at the shelter throughout his confinement period. Now - at last sweet boy Fritz is HEALTHY and he is SO ready to leave the shelter. And we did NOT forget you, Fritz!
Fritz is a solid citizen - sweet, funny, and incredibly friendly. He has tested perfectly with several dogs at the shelter. I can't wait to hear about it when he has a yard to be able to get out and stretch those legs for the first time in months. He's a happy boy - loves attention, and giving kisses and cuddles. And has the BEST smile....
Fritz was 60 lbs on intake but may have lost a few since then. Whatever, he will benefit from some regular good quality groceries. (And treats!). He has a whole new world waiting for him that will be so much bigger than the life he has led up until this point. He's ready to see, to learn, to love.
