Meet Hunny

Hunny's story began in a field, where this devoted mama dug a den and gave birth to eight beautiful puppies. She did everything she could to keep her babies safe, but after they were rescued, Hunny found herself alone in a shelter. Overwhelmed and terrified, she shut down completely and was quickly placed on the euthanasia list because of her fear.

Thankfully, Hunny was given a second chance.

Today, this sweet girl is slowly discovering that the world can be a safe and loving place. At around 40 pounds, Hunny is the perfect medium-sized companion. Her beautiful golden coat is the color of Hunny itself, and the adorable little flop at the tips of her ears only adds to her charm. One of her most endearing features is the delicate little prance in her step, a glimpse of the joyful dog she's becoming.
Hunny is crate trained, potty trained, and walks nicely on a leash in areas where she feels comfortable and familiar. Her demeanor is calm, gentle, and thoughtful. When you look into her soulful eyes, it's easy to see that she's been through more than any dog should have to endure in her short life.

While Hunny can be shy in new situations, she is making wonderful progress every day. She takes comfort in routine, patience, and kind people who allow her to move at her own pace. Once she trusts you, her sweet and loving nature begins to shine through.

Hunny gets along well with other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with a confident canine companion.
