Margot - Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Lakeland, Florida

Margot and her 7 puppies were pulled from Animal Control. They are currently all in foster getting well and strong enough to be adopted!



Update 5/30/2026:

Margot and her puppies had a rough start.

When this little family came to us from animal control, Margot was in rough shape. Severely underweight (you could literally see through her skin in the sunlight ), sick, and utterly exhausted from caring for her babies, she was running on empty. Since arriving, she has developed two draining abscesses from mastitis and is fighting an upper respiratory infection. Her puppies are battling URI symptoms as well.

The good news? They're safe. They have a dedicated foster who is pouring love, time, medication, and care into helping them recover.

Now we need help keeping everyone fed and healing.

Margot is finally getting the nutrition she has been missing, and the puppies need all the support they can get while they recover and grow.

Rescue is never just the moment a dog leaves animal control. It's the weeks of healing, feeding, medicating, and loving them back to health.

Foster Update 6/20/2026:

Margot is house trained and well behaved in the house. She's pretty low energy and just mostly lays around. She likes being outside but she digs huge holes. She walks well on a leash. It didn't take too long for her to trust me and she'll let me do anything with her. She likes hugs and kisses on the forehead. She just doesn't trust new people
