Meet Junie!

Junie is about 1 years old, 60 pounds, and a Collie mix with the cutest wiry coat and an incredibly sweet personality. She's dog friendly, cat friendly, house trained, and good on a leash - and she is just plain adorable.

Junie's story started with survival.

During the brutal winter storm of February 2025, a Good Samaritan had taken in a heavily pregnant stray. When it was time to deliver, Mama wandered off to have her babies. Tragically, the litter was born outside in the freezing temperatures, and only four puppies survived. Junie was one of them.

Their rescuer stepped up and made sure Mama and all four surviving puppies were fully vetted and spayed/neutered. Two of the puppies eventually found homes, but Junie and her sister kept waiting.

For the last year and a half, this kind woman has continued to love and care for the girls. Now on a fixed income and no longer able to afford the care of two additional dogs, she reached out for help finding them the homes they deserve.

And we are SO glad she did because Junie is an absolute sweetheart.

She gets along with dogs AND cats, is already house trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has the sweetest disposition. Add in that scruffy, wiry coat and adorable face, and this girl is pretty hard to resist.

Junie has spent her entire life waiting for her turn. She survived a beginning she never should have had to endure, and now we want to make sure the rest of her story is a really good one.

It's finally Junie's turn to be chosen

The Collie is a graceful and intelligent dog known for their loyalty, gentle nature, and exceptional herding abilities. They come in two coat varieties, rough and smooth, with colors ranging from sable and white to blue merle. Collies excel in obedience training and thrive on mental stimulation and physical activity. Their keen intuition and strong bond with their owners make them wonderful family pets and reliable working dogs in tasks such as herding livestock or in search and rescue missions.

The shepherd dog breed encompasses a versatile group known for their intelligence, loyalty, and strong work ethic. With a heritage deeply rooted in herding and protecting livestock, shepherds excel at various tasks ranging from obedience and agility competitions to search and rescue missions. Their protective nature makes them excellent family pets, offering unwavering devotion and a natural instinct to watch over and care for their loved ones. In addition to their remarkable abilities, shepherds are often characterized by their distinctive appearance, including a sturdy build, alert expression, and a signature double coat that provides insulation and protection in various climates.
