- I am enrolled in Waifs with Wisdom. This is a program for dogs to learn basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session.
- I prefer to coexist with other dogs.

My home needs are:
- I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies.
- If you have kids in the home 9 years old and younger, I will need to meet them since I have touch sensitivities.

Hey, I’m Charles!

I’m a 4-year-old shepherd mix with a big paw-sonality, plenty of energy, and a love for life’s simple pleasures. If you’re looking for a fun and independent buddy who knows how to keep himself entertained, I might just be your guy. My absolute favorite thing in the world is playing with stuffy toys; I can happily squeak and carry them around all day, so I’m great at self-entertaining whenever you're busy!

When it comes to other dogs, I tend to prefer coexisting rather than engaging in high-energy wrestle sessions. I like having my space respected, so I’ll definitely need to meet any potential doggie siblings here at the shelter first to make sure our vibes match.

Right now in the shelter environment, I’m a pretty independent dude who isn't super focused on pets or physical affection. I mostly just prefer having the room to explore, sniff around, and do my own thing! That said, the shelter can be a busy place, and there's a great chance I’ll warm up and show a much sweeter, more affectionate side once I’m settled into a cozy, comfortable home.
