Meet Luna!

Luna is a sweet 1–2-year-old, 40-pound Shepherd mix who just needs a little time to decide you're her person. She can be shy and nervous with new people, especially men, and may bark and back away at first. But once she realizes she can trust you, her whole personality shines through! She becomes incredibly loving, loyal, and affectionate.

Luna loves belly rubs, treats, playtime, and going for car rides. She is dog-friendly, house trained, and crate trained. She is not a fan of cats, so she needs a cat-free home. We are unsure how Luna feels about younger children, but she absolutely loves her foster's 12- and 22-year-old boys.

Luna is getting spayed on 9/24, up to date on vaccines, and currently takes Benadryl three times a day for skin irritation. She would love a patient family willing to give her the time she needs to build confidence and trust. A home with room to run, play, and enjoy life would be a huge bonus! She can go to her forever home 9/25.

In addition to their remarkable abilities, shepherds are often characterized by their distinctive appearance, including a sturdy build, alert expression, and a signature double coat that provides insulation and protection in various climates.
