Hi! My name is Ace, and I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I'm a 1 year old male Shepherd mix who is eager for a new home!

Hi, I'm Ace! As in ace of spades. As in, the most valuable card in the deck! Because it's true, I'm a special guy. I've quickly gained a reputation in the shelter as the "coolest guy in school", seeing as everyone wants to become my friend (with good reason too)! I'm a happy go lucky pup that has shown I can be very adaptable to my surroundings and am often used to help other dogs come out of their shell. I give kisses to nervous dogs to let them know it's okay to play and show their silly side and because of this, I've gained popularity around campus! I was first brought into the shelter as a puppy when I was transferred in from an overcrowded shelter, adopted, and unfortunately had to come back since my person was moving out of the country. I consider myself to be a bit more of a "dog's dog" and can sometimes take a minute to warm up to new people. I was primarily an outdoor dog but I would much rather prefer a bed inside where it's cozy. I may need a couple of visits prior to taking me home just to make sure we're going to be best friends (don't worry, I know we will). Aside from being an awesome player, I have a couple tricks up my sleeve, as in making treats disappear and somehow appearing in your lap?! I'm still working on my next trick- finding my person. When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Hills will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home.
