Not sure of:
How she does with cats
Breed, seems to be maybe Bernese mountain dog/chow/german shepherd/aussie mix
Age, vet thinks she's about a year old
Weight, probably around 40-ish pounds
Positives:
Super sweet
Loving, gives kisses and cuddles
Loves belly rubs
Let's you touch her paws
Good with other dogs
Good with young kids (our 14-month old)
Likes to hang outside (in a fenced in backyard)
Eats well
Loves chewing on bones (we have an assortment of toy chewing bones, she'll keep herself busy with those)
Loves playing with dog toys
Doesn't really bark unless she is locked up, and she settles down eventually and just hangs out (we sometimes left her in our spare room with blankets and toys and she did great, we didn't try a crate. She did scratch at the door and door frame which took some paint off but it was minimal)
Room for Improvement:
Puppy energy and tendencies (i.e., hyper, playful nipping, chewing, getting into tissues/wipes/trash if left out, socks/underwear, sometimes shows interest in shoes left out).
Skittish (takes some time with petting and sweet talking before she trusts someone)
If on a leash, and she gets scared, she pulls a lot and can slip out of it
Runner (if she sees an opportunity to escape, she is gone and very hard to coax back)
Sometimes potties in the house but if she has lots of outside time then she potties out there. She seems to be familiar with puppy pads but sometimes misses and doesn't get everything on the pad.
Likes to dig, only sometimes, does not appear to be a regular behavior for her though
She "growls" but is not aggressive at all, she is just scared. She has not once snapped at anyone or shown her teeth.
