Fern is a 65-pound lap dog who loves hugs and is always up for an adventure. This sweet, playful girl is a 1.5-year-old shepherd mix, possibly with some Great Pyrenees.
Rescued at the eleventh hour from Lancaster Animal Shelter, Fern is a sweet, playful girl with plenty of puppy energy. She loves hugs and room to run, whether she’s exploring the woods or playing in a field.
Fern gets along well with other dogs, children, and cats, and she hasn’t shown much of a prey drive. She is highly food-motivated and eager to learn. She already knows her basic commands and has very good recall, especially considering how little training she’s had.
She’s also a wonderful companion for outings around town. She isn’t reactive toward other dogs and will happily settle beside you at a coffee shop or restaurant.
Fern experiences mild separation anxiety when left alone and is crate-trained for times when her people are away. She can also be timid in unfamiliar environments and would benefit from patient reassurance and gradual exposure to new places.
This affectionate girl would thrive in a home that offers companionship, playtime, and support as she continues to build her confidence.
