Omar is a sweet 11-year-old Shepherd mix who has already been given a second chance after being rescued from Puerto Rico. At just 24 pounds, he's a smaller guy with a big heart and plenty of love to give!

Omar is house trained and leash trained, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a well-mannered pup. He enjoys people much more than other dogs and loves being close to his favorite person. He may not be the biggest cuddler, but he's happiest sitting nearby, relaxing on the couch, or sleeping beside you.

Omar can take some time to warm up to other dogs, so slow introductions and plenty of time to get acquainted are important. The same goes for children, and he would do best with older kids who can respect his space. He can also be protective of his couch and belongings, so a patient family who understands his boundaries will be the best fit.

Omar would absolutely thrive in a home where someone works from home or is retired and spends most of the day around. He's looking for a loving person or family who will appreciate his companionship and let him settle in at his own pace.
