Rey - Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Cheektowaga, New York

Sweet girl Rey is adjusting to her foster home since arriving. She is absolutely obsessed with toys, and is great with other dogs of all sizes. She enjoys being a couch gal, and taking a snooze after playing.

Unfortunately we do not know where Rey originated from before entering the shelter but she carries some burdens of her prior life.

Rey is protective over her food and needs to be fed separate from other dogs. Rey is exhibiting guarding of high value items (toys, bones, etc)

She is young enough to build confidence and security and work out of this behavior but we would be doing her a disservice but not disclosing it to potential adopters. She is already showing minor improvements in a few days - but will need to be an only dog or have an owner willing to understand these behaviors. She does not guard with humans - only other dogs.

She is working hard on house and crate training and does have a fenced yard in foster currently.
