Meet Cara!

If you're looking for a dog who believes there's no such thing as too much love, Cara is your girl. This 5-year-old, 55-pound shepherd mix is an affectionate, people-oriented sweetheart whose favorite place in the world is wherever *you* are. She'll happily follow you from room to room, always ready to offer kisses, companionship, and unwavering devotion.

Cara is an active girl who loves to get outside. Whether she's playing fetch, hiking the trails, or romping with dog friends after a proper introduction, she's happiest when she has an outlet for her energy. A good adventure is usually followed by a well-earned nap at your feet.

Like many smart shepherds, Cara has plenty of personality. She's an expert toy de-stuffer and approaches every plush toy with impressive determination. She also has a strong prey drive and loves keeping an eye on squirrels, chasing them up trees, or investigating every gopher hole she can find.

Cara currently lives with a grumpy 10-pound dog and does a wonderful job respecting his boundaries. While she enjoys other dogs, she values human attention above all else. She's the kind of dog who would rather be soaking up affection from her favorite people than doing just about anything else.

She's also continuing to polish her manners. Cara gets so excited to meet people that she can't always contain her enthusiasm (expect lots of kisses!), and she's working on staying calm around other dogs during walks. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and regular exercise, she's making great progress.
