Butterscotch - Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Brookshire, Texas

Remember this beautiful golden Shepherd girl?

Butterscotch was found abandoned in a rural area north of Houston. When animal control officers arrived, she walked right up to them, almost as if she knew someone had finally come to help her.

She spent weeks at Waller County Animal Control before Belle's Buds Rescue stepped in.

And thankfully, our wonderful temporary foster Lisa opened her home and heart to Butterscotch.

But here's the part we really need your help with...

TEMPORARY FOSTER CARE IS NOT A PERMANENT SOLUTION.

Lisa has been incredibly generous, helping us care for dogs who otherwise would have nowhere to go. But she cannot keep every dog she helps save.

Butterscotch desperately needs someone who can commit to fostering her until she finds her forever family.

And this girl has SO MUCH to offer!

MEET BUTTERSCOTCH!

Gorgeous golden Shepherd with unique coloring

Incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loving

Wonderful with other dogs

Knows how to SIT and SHAKE!

Loves being around people

Cat compatibility is still being evaluated

So gentle and loving that she's even formed a sweet bond with Lisa's 90-year-old father!

Just imagine being abandoned, spending weeks in a shelter, and finally discovering what it feels like to be loved.

We don't want Butterscotch to lose that feeling of safety.

Here's what we need:

A COMMITTED FOSTER HOME!

Someone willing to give Butterscotch a safe, loving place to stay while Belle's Buds Rescue works to find her forever family.

And YES, BUTTERSCOTCH IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

A forever home would be the ultimate happy ending, but our most immediate need is finding a committed foster who can take over from her temporary placement.

As a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, we depend on people opening their homes. Without fosters, we simply cannot continue helping dogs who need us.

Lisa said YES when Butterscotch had nowhere else to go. Now we need someone else to say YES so Lisa can continue helping dogs in emergencies.

Currently in Northwest Houston, Texas.

Out-of-state transport available to approved adopters!

FOSTER OR ADOPT — SAME APPLICATION!

Butterscotch has already been abandoned once. Let's make sure the next home she enters is filled with love, security, and someone who will keep their promise to her.
