Butterscotch's Story

Meet Butterscotch, AKA, Butter, a 5 month-old pup who has the best swagger and the most adorable ears that flop over. Butter is a Sheperd Husky mix with soft grey, brown and cream fur and a naturally bobbed tail that is constantly wiggling. He weighs 28 lbs now and we think he will be around 40lbs when he is fully grown.

Butter was born to a single, homeless mom. The rescue ranch saved the mom off the streets of Houston, and within a week, Butter and 13 siblings were born. As the runt of the litter, Butter's strong will to live was evident, as he held his own against his bigger brothers and sisters and has grown into a healthy, happy young pup.

He is a curious, confident guy, who loves exploring his environment and playing with his furry buddies. He's also loves jumping in his foster mom's lap to snuggle and is not one to turn down a good belly rub.

Butter has tons of personality and can be found cuddling in blankets, tumbling into dog piles, and dozing off in his food bowl. He carries around his “I love you” bone, looks surprisingly good in a cowboy hat (because he is in Texas!), and is always ready for an adventure.

He’s up to date on his vaccines and rabies shot. Butter is house-trained and leash trained. With his strong spirit and easygoing personality, he will transition beautifully into a new family. Whoever adopts him will gain a loving and loyal companion.

Our Rescue does not spay and neuter pups at young ages so the Adopter will have to get that done at one of our Houston vets at no cost to them or if with their own vet - they will receive rebate of $100 once he is neutered between 6-12 months of age. Butterscotch will be microchipped & is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. He would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family.

NOTE: THIS IS AN "OUT OF TOWN PET" - that means he is not at this location, but we do have transport here - more about transport below. Our Rescue is Houston based (https://www.facebook.com/TwilightTailsRescue) and all our fosters and Rescue Ranch are in and around Houston.

Although currently this dog is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX, he can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below.

Adoption fee is $350 plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will be updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
