Meet Bruce!

Bruce is a big dog with an even bigger heart. At 78 pounds, he's definitely earned his nickname, Bruce the Moose, but don't let his size fool you. This gentle giant is a sweet boy who loves spending time with his people and enjoying the simple things in life.

Give Bruce a stuffy and you've found his happy place. He loves carrying them around, playing with them, and eventually turning them into several smaller stuffies. Apparently, one toy is simply not enough when you have a Moose-sized appetite for fun.

Bruce is also a great listener with excellent recall skills. When you call his name, he'll come running, making him a wonderful companion for adventures and playtime. At the end of the day, he's more than happy to hang out with his favorite people and enjoy some attention.

If you're looking for a big, goofy sweetheart who will keep you entertained and never leave you wondering where the stuffies went, Bruce the Moose might be your guy. Submit an adoption survey at al-van.org/adopt.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.

The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
