×××× Ramona truly is a Shar Pei. We did a DNA test on her and it came back as all Shar Pei. We didn't expect that! She looks Shar Pei when you meet her. You will see the face, ears, shape of head of a Shar Pei. Not the size of a Shat Pei since she is only 25 pds.
Ramona is a Shar pei with the cute small ears, chubby face, always smiling face. She doesn't have the traits of her breed. She is outgoing with people and everyone she meets is her new best friend. She loves playing with her doggy playmates. Her antics are of a puppy. Play, play, play! Ramona also loves the kiddie swimming pool. If you would allow her, she would be sitting in or running thru it every chance she got. The girl loves water. Her favorite toys have been the hard Nylabones, all rubber types, rope tugs and balls.
Ramona is just now going into a foster home so we can learn more about her crate training and housebreaking skills.

You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.

The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
