DESCRIPTION

Meet Thistle!

Small Scottish Terrier Mix | Professional Snuggler | Aspiring Shadow

Thistle may be small, but he has quite the story to tell!

This little guy was found running along a busy street, surviving on his own and taking shelter in bushes. Thankfully, a kind Good Samaritan took the time to earn his trust and reached out for help. When no owner came forward, Thistle officially became a rescue pup and began his journey toward a better life.

When he was first found, his fur was terribly matted and tangled with thorns and thistles from his time living in the bushes. That's how he earned his name! Thistle is Scotland's national flower, making it the perfect name for a little Scottish Terrier mix who quite literally arrived covered in thistles.

Much like his namesake, Thistle is a little prickly on the outside at first, but underneath is the sweetest little soul. He takes some time to feel comfortable with new people, but once you've earned his trust, you'll have a devoted little companion for life!

And once you're in Thistle's inner circle? Prepare for snuggles!

Thistle absolutely LOVES cuddling, lounging on the furniture, and being close to his favorite humans. He's happiest curled up beside you or following you from room to room as your very own little shadow. He's also recently discovered the wonderful world of toys and is learning just how much fun being a dog can be!

A Little More About Thistle:

  • People: Thistle needs a little patience when meeting new people. He prefers to build trust at his own pace, but once he does, he's an absolute sweetheart!

  • Dogs: He currently lives peacefully with five other dogs in his foster home! While he can coexist with other dogs, he appreciates his personal space and isn't a fan of pushy dogs getting too close.

  • Cats: Thistle can peacefully coexist with his foster family's laid-back, dog-friendly cat. However, cats who run tend to bring out his chasing instincts, so a home without cats or with a calm, dog-savvy cat may be best.

  • Potty Training: He's doing really well and continues to make great progress!

  • Grooming Needs: His type of hair does require grooming! His foster family trimmed his hair themselves but keep this in mind when considering Thistle.

  • Outdoor Adventures: Thistle LOVES running around outside! Because of his history as a little wanderer, he needs a securely fenced yard with no holes, gaps, or escape routes.

  • Favorite Activities: Snuggling, lounging on comfy furniture, following his humans around, exploring the yard, and discovering new toys!

Thistle's perfect home would be one with patient, understanding people who will give him the time and space to feel safe. He doesn't need to be the center of attention, but he would certainly love to be the center of someone's world. A home where he can enjoy his own space, soak up endless cuddles, and run around a secure yard would be a dream come true.

Thistle has already experienced what it's like to be alone in the world. Now he's discovering the joys of soft beds, gentle hands, toys, and unconditional love.

All this little Scottish gentleman needs now is a family to call his own.

Could you be Thistle's happily ever after?

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
