Meet Sue!

This sweet Schnauzer, estimated to be born around 2018, is a little hesitant and nervous to open up at first, but once she does, she's a truly loving girl. Sue is highly food motivated, loves having a blanket to snuggle on, and adores her foster Schnauzer brother. She's also just starting to learn how to play with her lamb chop toy!

Sue loves her walks and could sniff every inch of the world if you let her — she's getting more comfortable and confident every day, and she also enjoys exploring the backyard. On walks, she's a total gem: no barking at people or other dogs. At home, she uses her voice to protect her person — though she stays quiet for the mailman and delivery drivers. Given her sometimes vocal, protective nature, Sue would do best somewhere other than an apartment, where she has a bit more room to feel secure. She can also be a little hesitant around men, something her foster is actively working on with her.

A few important things for Sue's future family to know: she is heart worm positive and will need a family ready to support her through treatment. She does well with small dogs only, so any canine housemates should be on the smaller side. She is not able to be crated. And sweetly, Sue is missing her teeth, giving her one more little quirk that makes her all the more lovable.

Sue needs a patient family who will give her the time and space to acclimate to her new home at her own pace. Once she trusts you, she has so much love to give.

Once your application has been received, a member of our team will contact you to schedule a phone interview and if approved, a meet-and-greet. This process can take up to 10 days as we are volunteer run.
