Hi there! My name is Sherman and I'm a 7 year old Male Schnauzer Mix currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home!
Sherman is the perfect blend of charm, enthusiasm, and a heart full of love. He may have started his life as an outdoor ranch dog, but now he's ready to trade in the wide-open spaces for a cozy spot on your couch... and maybe even your bed. Though he was initially shy, he has shown us that he's the life of the party! Whether it's meeting strangers or making new friends, he greets everyone with wagging tails and boundless enthusiasm. He's playful, friendly, and ready to be your constant companion. Sherman has lived with kids before and done well. He's also lived with another dog in his previous home and played well, though the rainbow bridge was calling her name and Sherman is now looking for new buddies to keep him active. When Sherman was brought to the shelter, he came in a little matted, so regular brushing and upkeep will keep him looking (and feeling) his best. Think of it as quality bonding time, he'll love the attention! If you're looking for a loyal, playful, and loving senior who's ready to settle into a warm home, Sherman is your guy. He's not just a pet; he's your friend for life!
Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home.
Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!
