Shirley’s story started in the worst way. She and her sister Laverne were dumped in the middle of nowhere beside a pile of discarded furniture like trash no one wanted. Both girls were severely matted, terrified, and so emaciated you could see every bone in their bodies. Despite everything they endured, Shirley never stopped wanting love.

Since coming into rescue, Shirley has absolutely blossomed. She has learned how to walk on a leash and is discovering that life can be safe, fun, and full of affection. She is a sweet soul who loves to cuddle and be close to her people. Shirley does well in a crate, is mostly potty trained, and is very food motivated which makes her eager to learn. She also LOVES toys and gets excited over the simple things she never had before.

Shirley does best with submissive dogs and enjoys calm companionship. After surviving abandonment and neglect, she’s ready for a forever home that will continue showing her patience, kindness, and the love she always deserved.

The schnauzer is a versatile and intelligent dog breed known for its distinctive beard and eyebrows. They come in three sizes - miniature, standard, and giant - each with their own unique personalities and characteristics. Schnauzers are loyal, playful, and make excellent family pets.
