Meet Glimmer: The Gentle Soul with the Sweetest Heart
Glimmer is a 1–2 year old, 23-pound Schnoodle who came to rescue from a shelter and has been quietly blossoming ever since. She may be a little shy at first, but behind those soft eyes is one of the most gentle, low-maintenance dogs her foster family has ever met. She’s the kind of companion who brings a calm, peaceful presence to a home—and who will happily soak up cuddles once she feels safe. And yes— unlike some doodle mixes, Glimmer does shed, so her future family should be prepared for a bit of fluff along with all that love.
Her Daily Routine
Glimmer is an easygoing girl who thrives on predictability. She starts her day around 7:00 AM with some time in the yard, then comes back inside to relax before breakfast, which she’ll enjoy anytime between 8:00–10:00 AM. She takes three leisurely walks each day—morning, after lunch, and again around 7:30 PM. Dinner is her quiet time; she prefers to eat after the household settles down in the evening. The rest of the day? You’ll likely find her lounging comfortably nearby, keeping watch in her calm, observant way.
Slowly Blossoming
Glimmer is growing more curious and brave with each passing day. She’s independent by nature, yet she’ll never turn down affection. She’ll happily let you hold her, cuddle her, or pet her however you like. Her happiest moments are often in the backyard, where she’ll run around, flop onto her belly, and roll over for scratches—especially when her people are nearby cheering her on.
Personality & Energy Level
Glimmer is the definition of a couch potato with a soft spot for outdoor fun. She loves a good walk and enjoys playtime in the yard, but she’s not high-energy or demanding. She’s content to relax, observe, and be near her people. She rarely barks, is wonderfully calm in the home, and brings a soothing presence to daily life.
Friends, Kids, and Other Dogs
Glimmer previously lived in a foster home with other dogs, and while she can be shy when meeting new canine friends, her response is simply to retreat rather than react. Her gentle nature really shines with children— she has been wonderful with a 3-year-old, patiently allowing pets, hugs, and even brushing sessions. Her foster family believes she would do very well in a home with another kind, confident dog to help show her the ropes. She has not met a cat yet, but her calm demeanor suggests she may be able to live peacefully with felines.
House Manners
This girl has excellent manners. She is fully housetrained with zero accidents and typically does her business on walks or in a designated spot in the yard. She walks nicely on leash and doesn’t pull or chase squirrels. When it’s time to come back inside, she sometimes wishes the fun wouldn’t end and may need a gentle carry indoors— she just loves being outside with her people.
She isn’t a chewer, digger, or barker. The most you’ll hear from her is a soft cry when her family leaves or when she smells especially tempting human food.
Why Everyone Falls for Glimmer
What sets Glimmer apart is her extraordinary gentleness. Even while she was still settling into her foster home, she showed her tender heart in a memorable moment: when her foster family’s young daughter fell and started crying, Glimmer—still shy and unsure—walked over to check on her. That’s who she is at her core: a soft, caring soul who notices when someone needs comfort.
If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who will reward your patience with deep loyalty and quiet affection, Glimmer might just be your perfect match.
