Meet JJ! This gentle, big-hearted senior was surrendered to the shelter on 6/22 after spending her entire 9-year life chained outside. A kind family gave her a safe place to land, but they couldn't keep her. Now, JJ is hoping to finally experience the love and comfort of a forever home. Volunteers describe her as calm, quiet, and incredibly sweet. If you have a soft spot for senior dogs or those with medical needs who are too often overlooked, JJ could be the perfect companion. JJ is approximately 9 years old, and weighs 86 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines and has been microchipped. She may not be spayed at the shelter due to age, please inquire with shelter staff. Unfortunately, JJ did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care she can enjoy her golden years. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while she receives treatment. JJ is waiting patiently in kennel 802; her ID # is 20207.
