We are thrilled to introduce May, or May-May as she is affectionately called.
May is what in rescue we call a *starter dog* - no extensive dog experience needed as this girl is kid, cat, dog and adult human friendly - maybe a tad shy with men initially, but warms up in minutes.
We rescued May from the Stanislaus shelter where she was going to be killed because the shelter had no capacity to 1) spay her and 2) she needed what is a fairly common entropion eye surgery. PACC took care of both of those things. If you donate to PACC these are your donations at work!
May-May's stats:
-Large, 85 lb, spayed girl-teddy-bear
-2.5-3 yrs old
-Healthy, up to date on vax and microchipped
-Mostly Rottweiler with a splashes of Chow Chow and Spaniel!
-Fully house trained, exceptional house etiquette - no need to hide your favorite shoes
The Chow Chow in her gives her rottie coat an extra vibrant version of the classic black and tan coat and her tail and adorable "trot" are all Spaniel. May-May is the cutest blend ever!
She is a velcro or cling wrap dog. If you are looking for a low-maintenance cuddle bug who wants to be by your side - you simply are not going to outmatch May in these categories.
That said, she is used to being independent, so does not have the separation-anxiety that is very common in dogs these days.
While May likes her "walkies", she's also "like - why?". She'll indulge you for about 800 yards or so because she's kind that way...and then she'll tell you she's ready to go back home. So all you couch potatoes out there, May does not judge you - rather she joins you. If you're looking for a running partner or hiking buddy - May is pointing you in the other direction - "talk to PACC about Taz or Enzo, I'm not your girl".
Nonetheless, May is lovely on leash although we generally don't leash her because when we are looking for her all we have to remember is to look down - and there she is, at our feet smiling up at us.
May would make a perfect low maintenance family dog where she would insist on being a central part of the household.
If May sounds like a good fit with your situation: looking for a low-maintenance family member that requires a lot of love and attention but not a lot of exercise and "training" complete the PACC application below and we will reach out once its received.
