It's a tale as old as time! Once upon a time, there was a beauty named Belle. She's a 7.5-week-old Rottweiler/Blue Heeler mix who weighs 8 pounds (as of 4/29/26). This bookworm lived as a stray in Tennessee but she hopes to find a Beast (or family) where she can live her happily ever in New England!
Adorable, sweet and well-read, this charming girl will be the first to say "Bonjour!" to you every morning. Belle has a big personality packed into a tiny, adorable package. She is the perfect mix of playful energy and snuggly charm. Her hobbies include reading literature, chasing toys, bouncing around, showing off her spunky side and exploring the world. It's like Belle always says, "There must be more than this provincial life!"
When playtime winds down, she’s all about cuddles and cozy naps by your side, ready to hear stories about a Beast in an enchanted castle. (But don't tell Gaston!) Belle’s affectionate nature makes her a favorite with everyone she meets: dogs, children, even talking household appliances! She mostly sees cats behind the door of her foster's, but the cats walk away. Perhaps a different cat friend will come around. Unsurprisingly, Belle's bright, alert mind hints at how smart and loyal she’ll grow to be. She's beginning to walk on a leash and has learned to go into the crate with a treat. While she's not house-trained (yet) she is working on it; she'll wait until she's let outside or when the curse is broken. Whichever comes first.
Bring all the magic of a Disney princess to your home today!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.
To adopt or learn more about Belle, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $575] **
PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
