Josie is one amazing, brave girl with a story that will tug at your heartstrings.

This sweet girl was found very pregnant, wandering alone in the Arizona desert. She had no collar, no microchip, and sadly, no one ever came looking for her.

Thankfully, Josie was rescued and welcomed into one of our loving foster homes, where she gave birth to her beautiful babies in early September. She was an incredible mama, keeping her puppies safe, healthy, and loved until they were ready to spread their wings and find families of their own.

Now it’s Josie’s turn to be someone’s baby!

Josie is approximately 4 years old, weighs 60 pounds, and appears to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Hound mix, possibly with some Cur mixed in.

She’s a gentle, sweet soul who just needs the right person to help her blossom.

Shy and a little nervous at first, but so worth the patience!

Once she feels comfortable, she’s a laid-back girl who loves being a couch potato.

Does best in a quiet, low-activity home with a calm routine.

Seems to warm up to women faster than men.

Good with dogs of all sizes AND cats!

Gentle, mellow, and looking for a peaceful place to call home.

Josie doesn’t need a busy household or nonstop adventures. She just needs someone kind, patient, and loving who will give her the time and space to feel safe. In return, you’ll have a wonderful, loyal companion to share your couch and your heart.

After everything this beautiful mama has been through, she deserves a home where she can finally relax, feel secure, and be loved for the rest of her life.
