DESCRIPTION
Meet Sierra, a beautiful 5-year-old Retriever mix with a stunning red coat and a loyal heart. She came to us as a stray back in August of 2022 after being found near the Palm Springs windmills, and she's been waiting far too long for the right person to see just how special she is.
Sierra is affectionate and loving with the people she knows and trusts. Once you're in her circle, she's the kind of dog who wants to be by your side, enjoying walks, playtime, and a good natural chew. She would thrive with an active adopter or someone with a yard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy her day.
She walks well on leash, knows commands like sit and paw, and has a smart, playful side that shines once she feels comfortable. Sierra can be wary of strangers and would do best in an adult home or one with older children only. She does well with some dogs, especially male dogs, and a dog-to-dog meet and greet is strongly recommended if there's already a pup at home.
Sierra has spent years waiting for her fresh start. She doesn't need perfect-just someone patient, understanding, and ready to let her finally be someone's dog.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The retriever is a beloved dog breed known for its friendly demeanor, intelligence, and exceptional ability to retrieve objects. With a loyal and gentle nature, retrievers make excellent family pets and are popular choices for service and therapy work. These dogs excel in obedience training and activities such as agility and hunting. Recognized for their shiny coats and moderate size, retrievers come in various colors including golden, Labrador, and Chesapeake Bay. Their overall versatility and affectionate personalities make them cherished companions in many households.
