For most of their lives, Alvin and Monica knew the world from the inside of a kennel outside at the hoarding house.
They were exposed to the elements.
They were shut off from normal life.
They missed out on the comfort, routine, and security every dog deserves.
Both are heartworm positive, and through everything, they have clung to each other.
Since coming to us, they have made so much progress.
They now enjoy their little walks.
They are learning that people can be kind.
They are starting to understand that life can be more than what they knew before.
But new sounds, new places, and unfamiliar situations can still be scary.
Routine is everything for these two.
What they need now is not another kennel.
They need a patient person and a calm home willing to let them keep figuring life out at their own pace.
Someone who understands that progress may come in small steps.
Someone who will celebrate the first relaxed nap, the first confident walk, the first time they realize they are truly safe.
They have already come so far.
Their lives mean more than this. Their story deserves another chapter.
