Azalea - Rat Terrier Dog Available for Adoption in Elmwood Park, Wisconsin

Azalea is the young mom, about 10 months old, some kind of terrier mix - probably Jack Russell. She weighs about 15lbs and will not grow much more.

Azalea is such a sweet young girl, loves to play with toys, the other puppies and our 2 big dogs. She is fine with cats - in fact I think my former feral cat adores her.

Azalea will be a loyal companion. She can be independent, loves to explore everywhere. She can be a bit of a thief of things - grabbing things that falls on the floor. She will grab it and run! But she comes back and drops when you call her.

She loves to be by her people - next to on a couch or chair, but preferably on your lap. She loves to snuggle and is a lover. She gets a little excited if her fosters are gone for a bit and wants to jump and kiss, but calms down with pets. Training will help with that. She LOVES treats and food. She is great in a crate all night and completely potty trained. She has always done her business outside.

Adopters must live within 75 miles of Racine, WI. Adoption fee is $300 plus a $100 deposit for mandatory training classes*. This radius is in place due to ongoing medical care we provide post-adoption.

All dogs are in foster care and are not located in our office. Since all of our dogs are held in private foster homes, we look to have an approved application prior to sending someone to a private residence. Upon approval of your application, we will contact you with the foster home phone number to arrange a meet and greet. There is no cost or obligation to apply.

*Basic obedience training classes are required for all dogs at an approved certified training facility of your choice. H.O.P.E. pays $50.00 towards the overall cost of classes. You will be required to leave a $100.00 deposit for training at time of adoption. This deposit is 100% refundable after completing the basic obedience class.

All dogs will be up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, spay/neutered*, microchipped and a 30-day health certificate. *If they are too young to be altered, the fee includes spay/neutered at one of our preferred clinics All pets have a lifetime return policy.
