Nico is currently being fostered in Southern California, but we are willing to travel to Northern California for the right forever home with an experienced adopter.

Nico is an approximately 3-year-old, neutered Pug with a sleek black coat, an irresistible smile, and a heart full of love. Despite his heartbreaking past—being thrown from a moving van onto train tracks alongside another dog—this brave boy has shown remarkable resilience. Thanks to a compassionate Good Samaritan who rescued him and brought him to The Fuzzy Pet Foundation (TFPF), Nico is now safe and thriving. He’s ready to find the forever home he truly deserves.

Nico adores human companionship and thrives on affection. His loving nature and playful spirit will melt your heart. He even does the most endearing little twirl on his hind legs when he gets excited for mealtime! Playful and curious, he enjoys shaking and tossing his squeaky toys, exploring his surroundings, and going on his daily leash walks. At 22 pounds, he’s the perfect size for snuggling on the couch or joining you on fun adventures.

Friendly and outgoing, Nico gets along well with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats. He has made friends and happily wrestled and played with well-mannered dogs of all sizes. Due to his past trauma, he would do best in a calm, stable home without rambunctious children who might accidentally startle or overwhelm him. He also loves being the center of attention!

We are seeking adopters with a strong history of excellent and consistent veterinary care, experience with brachycephalic breeds, and a deep commitment to providing Nico with a safe, loving, and stable home for the rest of his life.

Nico is in excellent health. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and lab work, and ready to begin his new life. He also underwent a dental cleaning when he arrived in our care.
