Alby - Pug Dog for Adoption in Eagle, Idaho

Alby (short for Albus Dumbledore)

Alby is a confident, loyal dog. Whether he's following you from room to room or settling nearby on a soft blanket, he's a loyal companion who enjoys being part of everyday life.

He is playful when it's time to be active, and then perfectly content to relax and lounge for hours. He loves outdoor adventures, especially open spaces where he can run and sniff, and he's always happy to join in on outings and ride in the car.

Alby has lived with another pug his whole life, they grew up as puppies together. He would enjoy being the only dog in the home as he is independent and mostly wants human affection or he could do well with a compatible, respectful dog. He prefers being the more dominant dog in the relationship and can get a bit mopey if that balance isn't there. Has shown food aggression towards other dogs but if there is a well understood structure on distribution of food he does just fine.

He has been wonderful with children, including babies and toddlers. He is gentle when taking treats and has shown a calm, watchful presence around young kids. He seems to be indifferent to cats.

He is not crate trained, is used to having a doggie door, and is used to his humans working from home. He is used to being left alone for periods of time and is so excited when his people come home.

Alby is a sturdy, larger pug mix with easier, quieter breathing than many pugs. He enjoys comfort and will always choose a soft, cozy spot—especially if there's a fluffy blanket involved. His favorite place is wherever his people are, particularly if there's a blanket nearby.

He gets very excited for meal times, walks, and when you come home and will let you know with a cute howl. Alby would be a fun and affectionate addition to your home. We are looking for someone who is home most of the time, Alby would prefer not to be left alone all day while his person is at work.

The pug is a small yet sturdy breed known for its charming personality and distinctive appearance. With a wrinkled face, curled tail, and expressive eyes, pugs are beloved for their affectionate nature and playful demeanor. Originating from China, these compact dogs have a smooth coat and require minimal grooming. Pugs are known to be excellent companions, suitable for owners of all ages due to their adaptable and social temperament.
