Foster to adopt home needed!

Everyone meet our newest local intake Sadie!! This cute 2 year old Pug/Terrier mix belonged to a young woman who wasn't allowed having pets in her apartment. When the landlord found out, she had to rehome her or risk losing her apartment. She gave Sadie and another dog to her parents who weren't able to care for any additional pets so they reached out for help.

Despite her young age Sadie is pretty mellow. At just 16# she is the perfect size for travel and is a good lap sitter. She takes a few minutes to warm up, but elicits bellly scratches once she is comfortable by immediately rolling over on her back and showing you she is submissive and all the places you can pet. Sadie is a gentle blend of little clown and loyal companion just looking for a stable home where she can rest her head at night.

Sadie likely will need some brushing up on housebreaking and crate training but she did come from a home that had cats and a likesized dog so she should be okay with those in the home.

If you may be a belly rub dealer looking for a sweet scruffy girl to keep your heart smiling, Sadie may be oerfect for you!

Due to her small size and previous history, foster or foster to adopt requirements are:

-Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
-Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
-Being able to bring her back to our vets office in Adams for continued vet care if needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking her to your current vet to be established.
-Although she came from a home with cats and other dogs, a meet and greet with household dogs is a must to be sure she is a good match.
-Homes with children over 10 years old should be ok due to her current small size and energy levels.
-Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match.
-Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.
- A fenced yard is not a requirement but it is preferred. Sadie needs a secure area to be walked in or tethered.

An adoption donation of $450 is being asked for if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. She had her initial vet check, is current on vaccines and flea/tick preventative and she will be spayed Monday and ready to go.

All pets must be viewed in person by all family members prior to adoption; animals will not be shipped to their new homes. Dogs in the home must come to the meet and greet as well to be sure they will get along with the new pet. Veterinary reference check and adoption donation also required.
