💖 TUDOR'S STORY: FROM OVERLOOKED TO OVERJOYED
Tudor is the perfect embodiment of a second chance. This sweet boy was sadly at risk for euthanasia in a high-intake Los Angeles animal shelter. We recognized his gentle soul and playful spirit and just knew we had to pull him from that stressful environment. Now that he is safe and decompressing, his true, golden personality is shining through, and he is ready to find the forever family he so truly deserves.
🐶 PERSONALITY & TEMPERAMENT
Friendly & Curious
When Tudor feels comfortable and grounded, he is a joyful and engaging little guy. He loves to investigate new smells on walks and is always up for a cheerful adventure. He is a genuine ray of sunshine.
Patient & Wary of New People
Tudor is not a dog who will immediately rush up and lap up attention from everyone. Because of his past, he is cautious and needs a proper, slow introduction to strangers. He is not naturally fond of random, sudden petting from anyone and everyone. He must be given the space and grace to approach you first. When you allow this to happen naturally, you'll see him warm up into a sweet, affectionate companion. Pressuring him too quickly makes him shut down and fee nervous.
The Magic of No Pressure
Tudor is a classic case of a dog who will absolutely bloom once you remove the pressure. He will show you just how loving and special he can be when he knows his boundaries are respected and he isn't being forced to "freak out."
🏡 IDEAL HOME ENVIRONMENT
The Perfect Fit: An individual or couple with patience
We are looking for a single person or a committed couple who are patient and understanding. His future family must "speak dog" and intuitively know when to back off and when to offer reassurance.
A Grounded Space with Clear Boundaries
Tudor needs a home with calm, clear, and consistent boundaries. This is crucial for him to feel safe and grounded. When he feels secure in his expectations, his anxiety disappears, and he will not feel the need to "freak out" in uncertain situations. This also means his family must advocate for him in public and with friends--explaining "please don't pet right now" so that he never feels cornered. A low-traffic home is highly preferred.
Great with Other Dogs!
He is fantastic with other canines! If you already have a well-adjusted, respectful dog, they could even help show him the ropes and speed up his confidence. He is happy to co-exist or play, provided they aren't overwhelming him.
To ensure the best possible match for Tudor, any potential adopter must meet the following:
Strict "No Pressure" Policy: You must be willing to let Tudor warm up at his own pace. Absolutely no forcing interaction.
Calm Household: A home without young children (whose erratic movements can be stressful) and minimal surprise visitors.
Willingness to Advocate: You must be comfortable telling strangers and friends not to pet your dog until he is ready. This is his number one security need.
Secure Yard or Leash Policy: To keep him safe as he acclimates.
Understanding of Decompression: Knowledge that a rescue dog takes time to fully open up (the 3-3-3 rule).
