Summer is a tiny 6-pound poodle who is friendly, playful, and full of personality. She does zoomies in the yard and is good off leash, on a leash, and in the car. She is house trained and has recently been groomed.

Summer is a true lap dog. She sleeps on her foster mom’s bed every night and goes everywhere with her. She is very social and would do best with a family or person who can include her in their day-to-day life.

Her Story
Summer was picked up as a stray on Summer Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee — which is where she gets her name. She was so matted that she had to be completely shaved. This little dog has come a long way and deserves the very best home.

Location & Adoption Process
Summer is currently at our rescue in Memphis, Tennessee, and is available for adoption to the Northeast and Midwest, including Chicago.
Our dogs travel by professional transport to their new homes. Dogs leave Memphis every Friday morning and are available for pickup Friday night through Saturday.

Pickup locations include Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine.
Summer’s adoption fee is $550. There is an additional transport fee of $225. The first step in adopting Summer is to fill out and submit an adoption application on our website at merceranimalrescue.org. Once we receive it, we will follow up with next steps
