Meet Charles!

Charles is a 4-year-old Poodle mix weighing approximately 14 pounds, and hes ready to find the loving home hes always deserved.

Charles story isnt an easy one. He arrived at the shelter sick, covered in painful mats, and battling a skin infection. He waited there for two long months, hoping someone would come looking for him—but no one ever did. As kennel stress began to take its toll and his time was running out, we knew we had to say yes.

Now that hes safe, Charles is showing everyone what a sweet, happy boy he truly is.

Hes still a puppy at heart and loves:
Playing with other dogs
Tossing around his favorite toys
Curling up in your lap for snuggles

One thing Charles isnt a fan of is grooming. Its obvious he hasnt had much experience being cared for this way. Although hes a brave and gentle boy, grooming is overwhelming for him, and he needs lots of patience and breaks. His mats were so severe that he had to be shaved all the way down, but his coat will grow back beautifully with regular care.

Charles is also learning that crates arent so bad. While hed much rather be snuggled under the blankets with his people, hes slowly settling into sleeping in his crate at night. Hes making great progress with potty training and will happily use a dog door with a little encouragement.
