Ducky is an incredibly sweet, affectionate, and playful dog who loves spending time with his people. He's friendly with children and other dogs, enjoys meeting new dogs at the park, and does very well on car rides. He's equally happy going on adventures or relaxing at home with his family. When meeting new visitors at home, he may initially bark, but he warms right up once he's given some pets!
Ducky is very people-oriented and loves affection. He follows his foster family around the house, enjoys cuddling, and often rests his head or entire body against his people. He's playful and energetic when the opportunity arises, especially when playing fetch, tug-of-war, or running around, but also settles nicely at home.
He's intelligent, eager to please, and a quick learner. He knows basic commands, responds well to verbal correction, and is making great progress with his household manners & potty training. He's doing well with leash walking, although he occasionally gets excited and wants to run.
Ducky has recently discovered how much he enjoys toys and bones. Initially, he seemed unfamiliar with them and was hesitant to play, but he's quickly become comfortable entertaining himself.
Ducky came into rescue underweight after his previous owner made the difficult decision to surrender him so he could receive more consistent care. He has since been evaluated by a veterinarian, neutered, and had his teeth cleaned. His overall health is good, and he's currently receiving additional meals to help him reach a healthier weight.
Ducky would do well with a loving family who can provide companionship, regular exercise, continued positive reinforcement training, and patience as he adjusts to his new home. He's a wonderful combination of affectionate, playful, gentle, and eager to learn, and he's making excellent progress in foster care.
